For the rest of CANFOIL Week, you can participate in daily sessions, again choosing between:

Win the race, win a turkey! A fun harbour race for everyone with turkeys as the prizes. Gooble, gobble, gobble!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Join us for a relaxing and inspiring three-hour Pen and Watercolour Workshop led by artist Craig Baltzer. Open to all skill levels, this hands-on session offers a chance to explore your creativity in a welcoming environment. All materials provided—just bring your curiosity!

Awards Night Reception
We invite all our members, skippers, and crew from our club and elsewhere to join us in celebrating at the Saraguay House on Saturday, November 1st. Doors open at 6 PM, with the awards ceremony beginning at 7 PM.
Tickets will be available for purchase in advance!
Whether you're a member or a non-member, all are welcome to share in the enjoyment. This is an evening of fun and camaraderie you won't want to miss!
Speakers Series - with Syd Dumaresq
The Northwest Passage
Join Syd Dumaresq as he traces “one warm line through a land so wild and savage”, telling the story of the Northwest Passage. Syd will present the history of the discovery of this fabled Passage including what was known in 1845 when Sir John Frankiln set sail, what was not known, the many failed rescue missions and the first two successful passages: one by the Norwegian Roald Amundsen, and two back-to-back passages by the Canadian RCMP officer Henry Larsen on the St Roch.
Warning: lots of dramatic and terrifying landscape, but not much Architecture!

Holiday Wreath Making
Floral Designer Tanya Hiltz of Nova Naturals will lead a hands-on workshop to create a fresh, holiday-themed wreath. The wreath will be approximately 30+ inches in diameter,
Suitable for all skill levels.
Final numbers must be confirmed by Wednesday, October 29th for preparation.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Jam Session
Join Steve and friends for their regular jam session. Whether you play an instrument, love to sing, or just enjoy good tunes and great company, these sessions are all about having fun and sharing the joy of music.
Please note that the jam sessions will be on the 1st Saturday of each month only for the winter season.

Trivia Night
We’re thrilled to welcome back your favourite hosts, Teenie Grace and Elaine Cragg, for another round of brain-busting fun and friendly competition!
Get your team together and put your knowledge to the test — from pop culture to history, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re in it for bragging rights, a little rivalry, or just a great night out, this is your chance to shine.
Teams will compete for glory, so rally your crew, sharpen those pencils, and get ready for a night full of laughs, surprises, and “Oh, I knew that!” moments.

Pier Party
Join us for a relaxed Fall evening filled with great conversation, crisp breezes, and the company of friends and fellow members. It's the perfect way to wind down, watch the sunset, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Fall at the club.
This informal gathering is all about connection and community—whether you're catching up with familiar faces or meeting new ones. Hosts are welcome to offer light appetizers or snacks to share.
We will also enjoy Urban Noise, a local band who delivers a mix of popular, danceable hits—plus those unexpected gems you didn’t know you wanted to hear. Whether you're out for a good time or just love great music, Urban Noise brings the perfect soundtrack to every party.

Prince of Wales Race
The race for the Prince of Wales Trophy will be raced for on Saturday with Sunday as a rain date. Our oldest trophy, the Oland-Passow, will be awarded for the best placed boat in the Prince of Wales and the Wenonah, raced for during the RNSYS Regatta in June.

Venetian Night
Parade of Lights:
Join us in the mooring field by the breakwater at 7 PM on VHF Channel 68 to kick off the Parade of Lights up the Northwest Arm. If you’re not on a boat, feel free to watch from the patio under the tent or on the lawn at the Club.
Parade Route:
The parade will begin at the entrance to the Arm, cruise down the eastern side, turn at the Armdale Yacht Club, and return along the western side back to the Club.
Stay Tuned:

The celebration will continue under the tent at the Squadron, with live music from

A second weeknight race but in a more casual style. All the races will be pursuit style with a Bermudan start and fixed courses. White sails only and a breakwater start and finish. Mondays from June to August (see schedule below). No registration, just check in before the race on VHF channel 72, and it’s free!
Before 6:30pm, the course for the evening will be announced on the VHF. Find the course in the Mondays Courses and Start Times document below and it will tell you the course to be sailed and your start time based on the handicap of your boat. Don’t forget to use your non-spinnaker handicap to find your start time! Cross the start line at or after your start time, sail the course and arrive back with everyone else for the grand finish!

i420 & Nacra Learn To Clinic
A Clinic for Sailors to Learn to i420 and Nacra 15 sailboats.

Coached by: Madeline Gillis and Galen Richardson
Galen and Madeline are Nacra17 sailors on the Canadian sailing team aiming to represent Canada at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The two have grown up sailing internationally in boats such as the Opti, 29er, i420, Nacra15, and 49er. While Madeline grew up sailing at the RNSYS in Halifax, she has competed at 4 Youth World Championships and holds Canada’s top youth worlds performance in the i420. Galen learned to sail in Toronto at the RCYC and got into multihull sailing in the Nacra15 and successively got into foiling in the WASZP class.
The team now compete on the international Olympic circuit as they gear up toward qualification for the 2028 Olympics.
In this camp sailors will learn from Madeline and Galen the basics of sailing the Nacra 15 and i420 sailboats.

No Tears Regatta
The RNSYS No Tears Regatta is back. A fun-filled one-day regatta for all skill levels! $20/person for registration with a BBQ dinner and awards following racing.

Boxing Rock Cup
The annual favourite, Sail NS’s Boxing Rock Cup. The event starts at the RNSYS and BBYC and finishes downtown. A Bermuda (pursuit) start makes life easier on the start line and more exciting at the other end. Stay tuned for more details.

Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race
The biannual Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race returns this year for the 40th edition. All the details are on the MHOR site.
